Volunteering
As a social enterprise, we're committed to creating opportunities to encourage as many people as we can to get out into the woods. We run regular volunteering days on our main site near the Lake of Menteith and on coppice sites across the Central Belt.
Volunteers help with general site maintenance and upkeep, work on projects on the Cardross Estate, prep for upcoming events and workshops, and processing any wood we can get our hands on, either donated to us or cut from the coppice. In return, volunteers can learn new skills, meet new people, chat around the campfire and generally benefit from the great outdoors. You can come along as individuals or in a group – please let us know in advance if you're planning on joining us.
Follow us on Facebook to keep up to date with volunteering opportunities or get in touch to find out more.
All volunteering starts around 10am and lasts for as long as you want to stay (usually when it gets dark!). For volunteering on our site or the estate, click here for directions. For Redlees coppice site, you can find out more here: https://www.woodlandtrust.org.uk/visiting-woods/woods/redlees-urban-park/. Meet in the car park. We provide tea, coffee and biscuits but please bring lunch and any other snacks you need.
