Traditional craft workshops
Whether you’re an expert or a complete beginner, our greenwood workshops are made for you! You'll learn new skills, hone existing ones, or gain the techniques you need to move on to more complex creations.
We cover a wide range of traditional craft and green woodworking activities, from axe craft to spoon carving. Expert green woodworkers, and champion chatters, Paul and Craig, lead the wood-based workshops and Jo runs the blacksmithing. Between them, they bring years of experiences of crafting, tool use, and training people at all levels.
Our craft workshops take place on our site in rural Stirlingshire, just an hour or less from both Glasgow and Edinburgh. Workshops are outside but undercover, and you'll work amidst the trees, using wood that comes directly from our site, has been coppiced by us, or is locally-sourced. Blacksmithing takes place on a forge powered by charcoal made on site.
All workshop costs include the use of hand tools, and you'll be encouraged to take home whatever you make. These are hands-on, practical workshops, where you'll get to use a range of tools and explore the craft in different ways.
Teas and coffees are also included, and there's always a campfire burning so please do bring your own lunch to cook. There are composting toilets on site.
Our workshops are aimed at adults. We can accommodate kids over 12 for most workshops, if accompanied by an adult. Please get in touch to find out more before you book.
